When you have a dental emergency like pain, infection, swelling, or trauma to a tooth, it’s best to see a dentist as soon as possible. If you have a dental emergency, please call the dental clinic to schedule an emergency exam appointment.
Important note: If you ever have severe swelling, difficulty breathing, or chest pain, it’s best to go to the emergency room or call 911.
What happens at the emergency exam appointment?
At emergency exam appointments, we check your teeth, evaluate the other areas of your mouth, and take any necessary x-rays. We discuss your treatment options and make recommendations for your emergency dental condition.
Will you do treatment at the emergency exam appointment?
We cannot guarantee same-day treatment. Sometimes we can provide same-day treatment, but not always. If a separate appointment is needed for treatment, we do the best we can to get you scheduled as soon as possible. If you need a procedure that we don’t do at our clinic, may need to refer you to another dental office for treatment.
What else do I need to know?
- We only offer emergency exam appointments for the same day and the next business day.
- We only have a limited number of emergency exam appointments each day. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Call early for the best chance of getting an appointment.
- We cannot do a comprehensive dental exam or regular checkup at an emergency appointment. Please schedule a non-emergency appointment for these services.
