SFHC Dental Clinic Service Update

Salina Family Healthcare Center prides itself on providing extraordinary care, no exceptions. As you may know, there is a severe shortage of dental providers across rural Kansas. SFHC is not exempt from the shortage and is experiencing our own difficulties in meeting the community’s demand for dental appointments. Our dental clinic is one of a few in our area that accepts Medicaid, United Health Care, Medicare supplemental plans, and has a sliding fee scale. We are overwhelmed by the number of patients trying to be seen.

We truly wish we could help everyone, but given our current limitations, we are unable to do so at this time. Due to these challenges, our Executive Leadership team has made the difficult decision to temporarily stop accepting new patients for both urgent and comprehensive care. This decision was not made lightly, and we deeply regret any inconvenience it may cause.

Patients whose last appointment was over three years ago would be considered new (or non-established), and we recommend all new/non-established patients reach out to their insurance provider to find another in-network office which, unfortunately, may be located outside of town.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate these challenges.
