Nathaniel Clennan, MD
Resident Physician
Red Team
Nate Clennan, MD, is a native of Hutchinson, KS. We can all thank Hutch Trinity High School for his decision to become a physician! Dr. Clennan’s junior year Advanced Biology class was the first time he had any formal exposure to human anatomy and physiology. He couldn’t get enough! That summer, he did his first clinical shadowing at the local hospital, an experience that solidified his desire to become a physician. This journey continued at Kansas State University and then, the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City.
He has many areas of medical interest, so he is excited to see it all! Currently, he is especially enjoying operative and non-operative obstetrics, sports medicine, and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). Dr. Clennan’s favorite thing about being a physician is the relationships he gets to build with patients, especially those he gets to see long-term. “I'm also passionate about helping others to realize their potential to take charge of their own health. A quote from a physician I particularly look up to sums this up well: ‘You’re not here to fix people, you’re here to teach and empower people to take care of themselves.,’” he says.
When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Clennan is enjoying spending time with his beautiful wife, Karsen, and their young daughter. Together, they enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities and trying out new restaurants. Throughout his life, Dr. Clennan has tried out a variety of hobbies including most sports, mountain biking, reading (theology, historical, and religious fiction), guitar, and woodworking.
