Monte Wentz, OD

Optometrist
Monte Wentz, OD, is a native of Concordia, KS. Concordia is also part of the reason he became an optometrist. Dr. Wentz was interested in the medical field and wanted a career with the option to serve his hometown. He began his collegiate education at Kansas State University and continued on to the University of Missouri St. Louis School of Optometry. Dr. Wentz’s favorite types of care are primary eyecare and seeing “patients for foreign body removal – taking things like metal out of their eyes that should not be there!” One of the best parts of being an Optometrist is, “Watching people who have never had glasses put them on for the first time and realizing what they have been missing,” he said.

When he’s not helping everyone with their vision, Dr. Wentz stays busy in his community. He is the Chair of the Concordia Downtown Christmas Lighting Committee, the Chairman of the Brown Grand Board of Directors, the Chairman of the Community Foundation for Cloud County Board of Governors, and serves on the United Methodist Health Ministries Fund Board. He has also been recognized by the Concordia Chamber of Commerce as the 2010 Business Person of the Year, as well as spending 10 years on the Cloud County Health Center Board of Directors, including four of those years as Chairman.

In his free time, Dr. Wentz and his wife enjoy building renovation projects, traveling, and being active in the Concordia United Methodist Church. As a fun fact, Dr. Wentz and his wife live on the family farm – homesteaded by his Great, Great Grandparents.
