Lucy Florez, DO
Resident Physician
Red Team
Dr. Florez is from Bonner Springs, Kansas. She attended Kansas State University for her undergrad degree and obtained her medical degree at Kansas City University.
She wanted to become a family medicine physician because her mom when through a health condition when Dr. Florez was a toddler, and it was only thanks to the incredible doctors that she is here today. Dr. Florez says, “I decided I wanted to be able to advocate for patients in the same way other great doctors had for my mom”. She is also passionate about mental health, preventative care, women’s health, and endocrinology-related conditions, such as diabetes.
Dr. Florez says, “I strive to make every patient feel heard. My goal as a physician is to help you find the tools and information you need to make educated choice about your wellness”. Dr. Florez wants her future patients to know that she will try to do all she can to make sure they are taken care of and encourage them to play an active role in their healthcare.
In her free time, Dr. Florez enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs (Pancake and Maple), reading books, caring for (and killing) houseplants, and she is hoping to get back into playing piano. A few more fun facts: Dr. Florez is a breakfast food enthusiast and also played crash cymbals for the KSU marching band all four years she attended.
