Kate Nesbitt, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Advanced Practice Psychiatric Provider
Kate Nesbitt is from a little bit of everywhere. She has had the chance to live in states all across the East coast and South including North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, New York, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio. As a child, Kate always wanted to follow in her father's footsteps into the medical field. After noticing a stigma and a shortage of care for mental health patients, Kate decided on psychiatry.

Kate achieved her Associates of Science degree from Kettering College of Medical Arts, followed by her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nursing from Western Kentucky University. While completing her degrees, she was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, a nursing honor society, in 2013. Kate received her ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for lifespan/family in 2015. Her clinical interests include addiction treatment, recovery care, serious mental illness, community mental health care, military and veteran mental health care, trauma, integrative care, and child adolescent psychiatry. If you ask her what her favorite thing about her job is, she'll say, "helping patients achieve their best self physically, mentally, and spiritually." She'd also want potential patients to know that she makes sure to individualize care to best fit a patient's needs, while adhering to the philosophy of treating the whole person.

When she's not at work, Kate spends most of her free time with her daughter and husband. Soon, they will be welcoming a son into their family! She also enjoys swimming, walking her dogs, and recharging at the beach whenever she can go. One fun fact about Kate is that she was a professional dancer, studying classical ballet, jazz, tap, and musical theatre until she was 25 and decided to answer the call to go into nursing.
