Dr. Garrett Koehn, MD, is from Wichita, KS. His inspiration for becoming a physician was the time he spent at his grandfather's veterinary clinic. Dr. Koehn’s grandfather always taught him by comparing his work to human ailments. Family medicine’s holistic care approach reminds him of the type of care he watched his grandfather provide. Later, working for a family physician before medical school cemented that becoming a family practice physician was the right decision.
Dr. Koehn received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Harding University in Searcy, AR. Later, he went on to the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita to complete his MD.
Dr. Koehn loves the variety of being a family medicine doctor. “Talking with patients in clinic or delivering a new life into the world both fulfill me in unique ways,” he said. He appreciates having the opportunity to learn about patient’s lives and walking through changes with them.
When asked about awards to include in this bio – he mentions that he once received a mug declaring him a professional of Dad Jokes! So, bring all your best jokes to your next appointment! When he’s not setting cracked bones or cracking jokes, he enjoys time with family, reading, bird watching, hunting, drumming, and watching his favorite teams, the KC Chiefs and Oklahoma Sooners.
