Danielle Blea, LCMFT, LCAC
Behavioral Health Faculty
Danielle Blea, LCMFT, LCAC, is Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency's Behavioral Health Faculty member. Danielle's journey in her field began at Friends University, where she earned her Masters of Science in Family Therapy. After completing school, Danielle began her professional career providing mental health services in the areas of crisis, outpatient, and addiction to individuals, couples, and families for over a decade.
Her professional interests include co-occurring disorders, life transitions, trauma, and high-risk patient care. As the behavioral science faculty, she assists in developing and teaching the Behavioral medicine curriculum at Smoky Hill. Danielle is passionate about integrated health care, holistic options for disease/illness management, and improving systems to aid patients. If Danielle could tell you anything about therapy, she'd tell you it's worth it. "Therapy can be the most difficult process of self-discovery that you encounter on your way to living a substantial and fulfilled life... We are all constantly changing and learning things about ourselves. At times we learn that prior ways of coping are becoming deterrents from the lives we want to live. Therapy can be the key to unlocking previous patterns of discontentment."
In her free time, Danielle likes to travel to see new sights and experience new cuisines. If she's home, she's probably out on her patio, enjoying a book.
