Dr. McNeil is from Wellington, Kansas and attended Washburn University where he received his undergrad degree in Biology. Dr. McNeil then attended the University of Kansas where he received his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Before deciding to attend medical school, Dr. McNeil worked as a college professor and then a Title IX Investigator and Policy Author at Newman University. In 2019, Dr. McNeil graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita with his medical degree.

After medical school, Dr. McNeil attended his family medicine residency program at the Smoky Hill Family Residency Program, which is housed at Salina Family Healthcare Center and graduated in 2022. Dr. McNeil says, “I think that being a well-rounded physician is very important. There are lots of communities in Kansas that need doctors with a large set of skills”.

Salina Family Healthcare Center was thrilled to welcome Dr. McNeil back to serve the Salina community as a faculty physician in June 2024 and teach the Smoky Hill Family Medicine residents. Dr. McNeil says, “I enjoy discussing treatment options with the residents”.

When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. McNeil enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and occasionally going fishing. Fun fact: Dr. McNeil also is an identical twin!
