Grant Enhances Dental Care for Underserved Children!

This past year, SFHC was awarded a $35,850 grant through the Salina Regional Health Foundation's Community Health Investment Program.  Grant funding was used to purchase a nitrous oxide delivery system at the SFHC dental clinic and also for the purchase of dental equipment to be used at Salina Regional Health Center for patients needing to undergo general anesthesia for more extensive dental treatment. SFHC is one of only a few dental clinics in the area that openly accepts uninsured children and those with KanCare. Previously, if a child needed dental work under sedation or general anesthesia, they were referred to offices over an hour away. By providing these services in our own community, we eliminate the extra burden of traveling long distances to receive this very important dental care.

Welcome Megan!

My name is Megan Honas, I grew up in the small town of Medicine Lodge with my parents and three brothers. Growing up I was a very active. I participated in volleyball, basketball, track, cheerleading and softball throughout junior high and high school. After high school I attended Cowley County Community College for two years, and I was also a member of the Women’s Basketball team while there. I then transferred to Wichita State for my final two years of schooling. I am a 2015 graduate of the Wichita State University dental hygiene program. I worked in Wichita after graduating from Wichita State and later had the opportunity to join the team here at Salina Family Healthcare Center. I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to work in such a great environment. I strive to provide my patients with the best quality of care and an abundance of oral health education. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and partaking in various outdoor activities.
